George took some time to make his mark in first grade, but his 352 runs in 2012/13 allowed him to leapfrog five former players and his 2120 runs saw him at number eight on the Clubs all-time list.

George's Club record second grade score of 177 against Central Districts was made in the first ever game at Sanctuary Point Oval in 1997/98.

He hit another second grade hundred in 2006/07, while there were 25 half centuries including nine in firsts; although none more important than his 51 in 2012/13 grand final, after which he announced his retirement.

There were various century partnerships, and George won the association second grade batting average in 2007/08.

George was part of many winning combinations, including second grade premierships in 2005/06, 2007/08 (when he was captain) and 2011/12 and first grade in 2012/13. There were one-day championships with first grade in 2003/04 and 2012/13, and seconds in 1997/98, 2006/07, 2008/09 as skipper and 2011/12. He received two Evison medals for man of the match in these games.

George was also a member of the winning Twenty20 team in 2009/10, featuring in an opening stand of 114 in the grand final. George was a successful junior coach and completed a level two coaching accreditation. He also became involved in cricket administration with Ex-Servicemen’s, Shoalhaven District and Southern Zone. His expertise benefited the association as it made transition from paperbased records to the MYCRICKET website.
