Game's Update from the weekend, brought to you by Worrigee Sports, also home of the picturesque Worrigee golf course.
First Grade - Well it ended up being a bit of a nail biter this weekend for our 1st grade. We had LICC out for 159. Jake O'Connell again was bowling some real heat out there, he took an absolute blinder off his own bowling and ended up with 6 for 36. Chasing 160, we had a few starts in the top order but it was Travis Roth (38) , and Darren O'Connell (27) that steadied the ship. Special mention to Matthew Higham who came out and batted out the innings with Doc, making a really valuable 24 when the pressure was really on. It was a important game to win and the boys came through.
Second Grade - bye
Third Grade - Another close game with us coming out on top with 8 wickets down. With the ball Halayudhar Palle a new player to the club this year took 2 for 22 , nice Hala! We were chasing 177 for victory, Donny Tharaka put the twins Mitchell and Lukas Janes into open the batting, they batted out the first 11 overs with a decent run rate, then Jared Galvin came in with a lovely cameo of 44 off 31 balls. Donny Tharaka top scored with 47 off 44, with Jake Lewis hitting a 6 to win the game. Nice Boys!
Fourth Grade - had a hard time of it this weekend, again a few injuries at the moment but a few players back this week too so we will be more competitive going forward. Best of the bowlers was Ivan Bieniasch with 2 for 20, with extras top scoring with 21. Onto next week now boys!
Juniors
Stage 3 - the Derby was played this week between Green and Gold, Green came out the winner this time. With the bat for the gold team Max Royals top scored with 25. Dan Bishop best of greens bowlers with 3 for 18. Chasing 97 for victory, the Green team lost a few early wickets however Jeremiah Galvin came in and made a nice 22 to get them over the line. Devin Kuruvila was the best of the Golds bowlers with 1 for 10. A great game was had by all, and thank you to Trent Smith for organising the 1 minutes silence.
Stage 2 - Well the story of the week really for all grades was Logan Halliday (Pictured) . A absolute swashbuckling innings, he was hitting the ball to all areas of the ground and finished up with 78, yes 78! off 49! Wow Logan what a effort! That was something pretty special. Chasing our total of 164 Ulladulla could only manage 70, with Jonathan Spinks best of the bowlers with 2 for 10.
Stage 1 - A valiant effort from our youngest cricketers this weekend, however they had their first loss of the season, which isn't bad at all considering we have just finished round 5! Cooper Pitts best with the ball with 1 for 2, and with the bat Archie Richard a great little innings with 14.
Junior Blasters - Our tiniest cricketers had a great afternoon, with the Cricket NSW attending the session and giving out gifts (pictured). These cricketers have improved immensely over the last couple of weeks and we look forward to their continued development.
