Our first livestream caught the attention of many as First Grade returned to the winner's circle. Fourth Grade made history by including 2 separate mother and son combinations (pictured left) in the same team, while our women’s team were unable to play due to a washout.

Juniors

Stage 1 – Coming up against a much more experienced Ulladulla United Blue, our young Stage 1 team displayed great resilience chasing 144. With the ball, Nyx Wilson, Angad Rana and Henry Bowden each took a wicket while we saw Jash Talatiya take the first catch of the year for this team. Batting second, Ben Newing top scored with 9, and was well supported by Jash Talatiya (7) and Shaunak Kankotiya (6).

Stage 2 – After Ulladulla United Blue’s extraordinary bowling effort, our Stage 2 team battled hard in a low scoring match. Batting first, Virat Rana (9*) displayed great spirit opening the batting and remaining not out, however, we were bowled out for 37. A great bowling effort from our team saw us come within 1 wicket of victory, as Jessie Moss (2-2) and Cooper Pitts (2-3) led a great team effort.

Stage 3 – Batting first, our Stage 3 team were bowled out for 92 against a strong Batemans Bay team. Kent Ellery (pictured right) scored a magnificent 50 from only 39 balls to lead the scoring. Our team took 4 wickets in the chase, as Jack Meagher (2-21) impressed.

Seniors

Womens – Washed out before play commenced.

First Grade – A fantastic opening spell of bowling saw The Rail crumble to 6-36 before a spirited recovery saw them post a total of 228. Leading the bowling attack, Brad Cross took 4-35 from his 10 overs while Jayden Perry picked up 3 wickets. A 130 run second wicket partnership between John Bowern (68) and Mick Perry (60) laid the foundations for a successful run chase, with our first grade team picking up the win with one wicket in hand.

Second Grade - Batting first on a rain affected wicket, our Second Grade team were bowled out for 98, as Kuldeep Singh Rana top scored with 26. North Nowra-Cambewarra chased down the total, losing two wickets in the process. James Hancock and Kuldeep Singh Rana each took a wicket.

Third Grade – Our Third Grade team notched up their first win over the weekend, after batting first and setting a total of 8-141 from 40 overs. Newcomer Jaskaran Badyal top scored with 30 while interim skipper Jeevan Hettigoda managed 27. In reply, Bomaderry were bowled out for 96 thanks to a great team bowling effort that saw Amila Wanigasekara pickup 3 wickets while Jaskaran Badyal, Myles Condon and Bryce Goldfinch each picked up 2.

Fourth Grade – A blend of youth and experience continues to build results in fourth grade. Despite going down this weekend, our Fourths set a competitive total of 126 thanks to Shaia Wagner-Smith (50) and Paul McPhail (48 - pictured centre). Sussex Inlet managed to chase down the total after losing 4 wickets, which were shared amongst Paul McPhail, Jake Mussig, Mayank Kumar and Jared Hooper. The talking point of this game was the presence of two separate mother and son combinations in the same team!!! It’s believed this is the first time this has occurred in Shoalhaven Cricket, well done to Shaia Wagner-Smith, Amy Wagner, Louise Meagher and Jack Meagher (pictured left)
